The Community Birth and Family Center, Seattle. The only community-based nonprofit childbirth center in Seattle, near the University of Washington Medical Center. Numerous Midwives practice out of this center. The Center offers lactation services to anyone in need of support and care. Breastfeeding services are provided by lactation consultants formerly from Great Starts Birth and Family Education. The Center hosts several classes and workshops focusing on pregnancy and parenting. Breastfeeding Coalition of Washington (BCW) is a statewide coalition comprised of 23 local coalitions, individuals, families and health care professionals, working in partnership with WithinReach and the Washington State Department of Health, WIC program.
