HELLP Syndrome Society

HELLP Syndrome is a unique variant of preeclampsia (toxemia), has the following
characteristics: H (hemolysis, the breaking down of red blood cells), EL
(elevated liver enzymes), and LP (low platelet count. HELLP Syndrome occurs in
tandem with preeclampsia, but because HELLP Syndrome's symptoms may happen
before preeclampsia's three findings (high blood pressure, protein in the urine
and swelling), they may be misdiagnosed as symptoms of other conditions. As a
result, the mother may not get the right treatment, leaving both mother and
baby more at risk.

Breastfeeding:
WithinReach works to ensure optimal health for all families in Washington by connecting them to the programs, resources and information needed to build healthy families. Families access social and health information through the website and through four statewide hotlines and ParentHelp123.org, an interactive website that helps families find and apply for programs and local services available to them. WithinReach also produces free health education materials.
The Breastfeeding Coalition of Washington (BCW) is a statewide coalition comprised of 23 local coalitions, individuals, families and health care professionals, working in partnership with WithinReach and the Washington State Department of Health, WIC program. The BCW is a resource for local breastfeeding coalitions, other allied organizations and the public. The website has information on for both families and professionals including details about; legislation, discrimination, 'how-to', working and breastfeeding, educational materials, a newsletter, projects, awards, research, conferences and more.
