Welcome! Pregnancy is a very special time in a woman’s life. Decisions made during pregnancy can impact a baby’s birth and a baby’s birth can impact a mother the rest of her life. Unless medically necessary, there’s no reason a woman has to have an epidural or even birth in the hospital. Depending on where you live, there can be a variety of options for where someone births (hospital, home, birth center, etc.) and who they use as a care provider (Certified Professional Midwife, MD, etc.). There are also many options for how you birth and it’s important that you question your care provider, know the statistics and outcomes of their practice, and place of birth and decide what’s important to you. Luckily there’s a lot of information right at our fingertips, but how do we sort out what’s accurate and trustworthy from all the other stuff? I hope this website will help you do that. With a little one at home, my birth related work is limited. I currently teach a sibling preparation class, help moms a bit with lactation, and through this website, empower families to make educated and informed decisions. I hope you find what you seek and may you have the birth you desire.
